This is a cronut.
This is the half donut, half croissant creation of Dominique Ansel in the NYC bakery that bears his name. Apparently they are all the rage- as a donut lover this is understandable. These one of a kind treats are flavored by 1. rolling them in sugar 2. filling with cream and 3. topping with glaze. I am drooling as I type. Too bad New York is 3,000 miles away.
For now a homemade version will have to suffice. Pillsbury has revealed a DIY Cronut hack- I know my weekend plans.
